Product Description
RXSOL Potassium Chloride (RXSOL-97-8102-025) is a high-purity KCl salt used as a shale inhibitor in potassium-based water-base drilling fluids. Potassium ions exchange with sodium ions on clay mineral surfaces, reducing the tendency of swelling clays and reactive shale formations to hydrate and slough. This stabilises the borehole wall and prevents stuck pipe, bit balling, and related drilling problems. Also used in completion fluids, workover brines, and as a source of potassium fertiliser. Available in 25 kg bags.
